Starting on the end of May Bank Holiday weekend:
10am Sunday 29th May :Our usual starting point at Shobdon Airfield, many of us will be camping over on the Saturday night, there will be bar and hopefully food available, (This evening is normally a cracker)
On Sunday morning we will head straight for Swansea Airport, for a quick brew and the a short hop to Pembrey Airport. We follow the awesome Coast of West Wales, some of us will drop into Rosemarket and then we will meet for late-ish lunch in Haverfordwest Airport.
We then head North landing at Aberporth (West Wales Airport) (providing UAV testing isnt taking place) This is normally a very welcoming place for a brew.
After Aberporth we head North following the Welsh Coast, this is were the scenery becomes truly breathtaking, the great thing about all this coastal flying is that we normally get lovelly smooth air coming in off the sea !!
Conditions permitting we will drop into Talybont grass strip at the foot of Cader Idris.
The day will finish at RAF Mona on Anglesey where the local guys who are pretty keen to see us have organised some catering and a Marquee, the plan is to camp/ bbq/ beer/ chill/ shoot the breeze amongst RWR Barnstorming veterans.
Monday morning will see us following the North Wales Coast (Again mega impressive scenery) We will fly down the East of Wales landing at Welshpool for a brew and a return to Shobdon for those who want a Sunday lunch.
Rally entry is free. Its a pretty laid back rally, join where you want and leave were you want, if you are coming you will need to register so we have an idea of numbers for catering etc. Were possible we will arrange free or reduced landing fees for registrered entrants. We only ask that you show the highest standards of Airmanship and watch the weather, low clouds in Wales sometimes have rocks in them, so use your head and your met.
